Now in it’s 13th season this television show remains a favorite… and that’s because of its nuanced handling of murder investigations. What could simply produced as a TV police procedural, one that reinforces the idea that good guys wear white (and are white) and the bad guys wear black (and are black), this show goes for something much deeper and rewarding. At it’s best this show raises uncomfortable questions about murder, justice, race, and our preconceptions about right and wrong. The amazing Mr. John Kim, executive producer at ITV Studios, is responsible for it’s creation and long-standing quality.
I’m exceptionally proud of GONE, an episode that ITV submitted for an Emmy, but because of conflicts with my work on 102 MINUTES THAT CHANGED AMERICA the episode could not be entered… bummer!
